Cleveland Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer had his ACL surgery today at the Cleveland Clinic which was of course deemed successful. Hoyer is expected to make a full recovery. He was only able to play two full games and start a third before he tore his ACL and a terrible slide against the Buffalo Bills. Nevertheless Hoyer could figure in to the quarterback position next year with the Browns potentially as a starter.

It is difficult to imagine the Browns will not draft a quarterback in addition to having Hoyer but it is likely that if Hoyer is able to recover in time he will figure into the competition for a starting job. It is also possible that if the Browns were to draft someone they are not confident is ready to start the season of they want to sit them initially they could have Hoyer go in and start the season and see how he does before making a move to the rookie at some point.
