The Browns have agreed to terms on a one-year deal with former Bills receiver David Nelson,a source confirmed for the Plain Dealer. At about 5:20 p.m., Nelson tweeted "Hey Cleveland...'' The fact the deal was close was first reported by Keith Britton of 92.3 The Fan. Nelson (6-5, 214), the Bills' slot receiver, was second on the club in receptions in 2010 and 2011 before suffering a season-ending knee injury in last year's opener. Originally signed as an undrafted free agent out of Florida in 2010, Nelson has dropped just six of the first 141 passes thrown his way, according to ProFootballFocus.com. In his two-plus seasons, Nelson has caught 94 passes for 1,042 yards and eight touchdowns, including 61 catches for 658 yards in 2011.
