Andrew Ladd is a game-time decision for Game 1 of the Blackhawks' playoff series with the Blues after Ladd's wife, Brandy, went into labor in Chicago with the couple's third child.

Ladd is with his wife as she delivers the child and will attempt to make it to St. Louis in time for the Hawks' playoff opener, coach Joel Quenneville said.

Ladd was not at the morning skate Wednesday. The Hawks might be fortunate that Wednesday's game begins at 8:42 p.m., which would allow Ladd extra time to make to St. Louis, more than he would have had if the start time was around 7 p.m.

This isn't the first time Ladd has had to deal with potentially missing a game to be there for the birth of one of his children. When he was with the Jets, Ladd missed a game against the Stars to be there for the birth of the couple's second child.
