Former Giants closer Brian Wilson is not expected to sign with a team before this year's MLB season begins, as he is postponing working out for teams until he is 100 percent recovered, according to a CBS Sports report.
Wilson, 30, had his second Tommy John surgery last April 19. Full recovery typically takes a calendar year, putting the approximate date of Wilson's future tryouts three weeks into the 2013 regular season.
Wilson has been throwing off a mound and reports indicate he is nearing 85 percent health.
In January, the three-time All-Star showcased his still-recovering stuff for the New York Mets, but nothing came of it. The Boston native made it clear Tuesday the Mets are the only New York team he'd consider.
