Chipper Jones and Todd Helton have a lot in common. Jones, 40, announced in spring training that this would be his last season. He was asked Wednesday what advice he'd give the 39-year-old Helton, who plans to return next season after undergoing hip labrum surgery a month ago.

"He will know when it's time. He had surgery for a reason. He was hurting pretty bad," Jones said. "Can he come back and be productive? I have no doubt that he can. Todd Helton is a tremendous player offensively and defensively. And if he can go out there and be productive, he's going to do it. That's his mentality.
