Albert is as clueless as anyone about his contract situation

So, Albert, what is your contract situation?

"I don't know the situation. I'm as clueless as everyone else." And again: "I don't know. I really don't know. I have no clue."

Albert of course is an impending free agent in March. The big question is whether the Chiefs will bring him back -- under the franchise tag or a new deal -- or whether they'll let him walk, possibly drafting Luke Joeckel with the No. 1 overall pick.

What Albert wants is to stay in Kansas City.

"Of course [I want to stay in Kansas City]," Albert said. "I've been here five years, I was drafted by the Chiefs. My home is there, been living there, and Chiefs fans for the most part have been kind to me. I want to be a Chief."

He said he has not yet talked to Andy Reid or John Dorsey but that his agent has talked to Dorsey. He didn't want to share where they stand but did say they are talking.
