It took longer than expected, much longer, but the Blues finally look like the Blues again.

The club has won four of its last five games, including Thursday’s 3-0 victory over Phoenix. The lone defeat in the recent stretch was a 4-2 loss at Anaheim last weekend, a game in which the Blues held a 2-1 third-period lead but wound up losing, perhaps in part to being in their seventh game in 11 days.

The Blues will have an opportunity to prove whether that was a legitimate factor at 7 tonight when they play host to the Ducks — minus their suspended star Corey Perry — at Scottrade Center.

Either way, many agree that Blues fans haven’t witnessed this level of play and confidence since the team began the season 6-1. From that point until the recent 4-1 string, the club went 5-8-2.
