Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Brett Lawrie has spent over a month on the disabled list after suffering an oblique injury in a game against the Oakland Athletics August 3.
He completed a three-game rehab assignment Thursday by playing in the Midwest League Lansing Lugnuts' playoff game against the Fort Wayne TinCaps. (Don't you love minor-league team nicknames?) Lawrie went 3-for-4 with a triple as the Lugnuts were eliminated from the playoffs.
Friday, Lawrie will return to the Jays:
