Blue Jays fans still holding their collective breath after watching Jose Bautista exit Monday night's game clutching his left wrist in agony, can heave at least a partial sigh of relief.

The team's slugging right-fielder was officially added to the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with what the club is calling "left wrist inflammation," in what seems to be a favourable diagnosis given original fears of a longer-term injury.

As previously reported, speedy outfield prospect Anthony Gose was called up from Triple-A Las Vegas as Bautista's replacement. The 21-year-old Gose, the Jays' second-ranked prospect according to MLB.com behind injured catcher Travis D'Arnaud, will make his major-league debut on Tuesday night, presumably in left field.
