The Columbus Blue Jackets say that prospect defenceman Ryan Murray has undergone successful surgery on his injured shoulder.

Murray, the club's first pick, second overall, in the 2012 NHL Draft, will be sidelined for approximately six months but is expected to make a full recovery.
