The D-backs exercised their side of mutual 2012 contract options on infielder/outfielder Willie Bloomquist and catcher Henry Blanco on Monday, while declining club options on second baseman Aaron Hill and pitcher Zach Duke.

Bloomquist declined his end of the $1.1 million option and therefore became a free agent along with Hill and Duke.

"I am declining it with the hopes of renegotiating something longer than just next year," Bloomquist said. "I hope we can work something out as we would love to stay here."
