I’ve said since the Combine ended that a good scenario for the Bengals would be taking Kenny Vaccaro in the first and Giovani Bernard with one of the two second-round picks. It just so happens that both are in for visits this week.

Per a league source, Bernard was in Cincinnati last night and had dinner with team officials. He was in Dallas on Monday. The North Carolina running back received a lot of attention during his Pro Day in Chapel Hill last week as Marvin Lewis and Hue Jackson were in attendance. Bernard is a good change-of-pace back who could also return kicks.

Vaccaro tweeted Wednesday morning that he was on a flight to Cincinnati. He also had his Pro Day last week at the University of Texas, which was attended by Mike Zimmer and Jay Hayes. The last time the Bengals took a safety in the first round was 1992, but Vaccaro excelled in Texas as a cover safety. There are some questions about his maturity though after a couple off-field incidents last year.
