Quarterback John Skelton joined the ranks of the unemployed Saturday when he was waived by the Bengals. Skelton came to Cincinnati this offseason after three seasons in Arizona where he started 17 games often in place of an injured Kevin Kolb.

During training camp and preseason Skelton struggled with many of the issues that have plagued him throughout his career: Poor decision making and inaccuracy. So instead of the Bengals carrying three quarterbacks coach Marvin Lewis settled on starter Andy Dalton and backup Josh Johnson.
