There was a lot of happiness and excitement at the news that the NBA and the players union had agreed to a new collective bargaining agreement early Saturday morning.

But Pistons shooting guard Ben Gordon was cautious about expressing too much joy.

Don't get him wrong: Gordon was relieved that the NBA lockout that has lasted 149 days is coming to an end, but he said he had to know more.

"I'm just happy to hear that we came to an understanding," Gordon said when reached by phone in New York. "We haven't seen the exact details, so you can't get too excited."

You can understand Gordon's trepidation. He witnessed the negotiations firsthand, and his impression of the owners hasn't been favorable.
