England legend Gary Lineker insists the world’s most expensive player Gareth Bale will be a huge success at Real Madrid once his fitness and language skills improve.

Bale won a last minute penalty converted by Cristiano Ronaldo after coming on as a 76th minute substitute for Real in their 2-0 victory over Malaga on Saturday.

Lineker himself a former Spurs player with La Liga experience after a spell at Real's biggest rivals Barcelona believes the Welshman will show his true class when he adapts to life at Los Blancos.

The Match of the Day host said: “I think he will do brilliantly he just needs to great himself fit and in shape.

"I mean he's got such a prodigious talent that I think its only a matter of time before he succeeds there and I am sure he will do wonderfully well.

“He has been out injured and the important thing is that he does not keep rushing himself back before he's ready because he has missed out on a proper pre-season.
