Ravens linebacker and special teams ace Brendon Ayanbadejo carried his message of marriage equality to the Supreme Court on Tuesday, speaking as supporters of same-sex marriage gathered for the first day of arguments over California’s ban on same-sex unions.

"First and foremost, I have to say I'm not here as a Baltimore Raven," Ayanbadejo said, as reported by USA Today. "I'm actually here as a patriot — as a patriot to uphold the Constitution of the United States."

Ayanbadejo also revealed the secret to the Ravens’ Super Bowl victory. It wasn’t because of any particular strategy. No, it was because the Ravens took a page out of the Beatles playbook. Love is all you need.

"We won the football game because of love," Ayanbadejo said. "We loved our teammates more than the opposing team, more than the opposition [to gay marriage] and all these other people who are against us, love their family members, their teams and their country. As I said before, at the end of the day, love is always going to win the game."
