Devils coach Pete DeBoer can take heart in the fact his team has collected at least one point in all six games this season.
And, that he didn't get hit in the head by a puck.
Islanders coach Jack Capuano couldn't make the the same claim. He was struck by a puck above the left eye with 6:43 left in the third period and needed stitches in his eyebrow.
"My man Jack Capuano has had a tough couple of weeks. Kidney stones and then a puck. I'm hoping he's alright," DeBoer said.
Capuano appeared to be fine, answering questions after the game. He has now missed the season opener, also against the Devils, because of kidney stones and nearly suffered a serious injury in two meetings with the Islanders' division rivals.
Who knows what Capuano can expect in Sunday afternoon's third meeting at Nassau Coliseum.
At least Pete DeBoer didn't get hit with a puck
