General manager Jeff Luhnow said several times the last two months he didn't expect the Astros to offer contract extensions to any of their arbitration-eligible players.
Luhnow slightly changed his outlook Monday. Houston's GM acknowledged extensions are a possibility, and said the Astros are currently engaged in discussions as arbitration approaches.
Bud Norris, Jed Lowrie and Wesley Wright are eligible to enter arbitration this year.
"There's always a chance that we get a deal done before we have to file numbers," Luhnow said. "So we're working towards that and it's a goal right now, but it's hard to get a read on it. A lot of times we've really waited until right before numbers are filed, because that's when there's the most pressure to get a deal done."
