Astros righthanded reliever Josh Fields was activated from the 15-day disabled list Friday. Righty Edgar Gonzalez (right shoulder strain) was placed on the 15-day DL.

Fields, 27, threw just 2/3 of an inning for the Astros this season before going on the DL on April 8 in a move that was backdated to April 4. He recently completed an injury rehab stint at Class AAA Oklahoma City after spending significant time in Kissimmee, Fla.

Gonzalez, 30, said postgame Thursday he planned to pitch during a four-game series against the Los Angeles Angels and wasn’t concerned about his injury. Astros manager Bo Porter said pregame Thursday that Gonzalez was dealing with minor shoulder soreness. Gonzalez’s DL stint is retroactive to Sunday. He’s 0-1 with a 7.20 ERA in five games.

As of 7:30 p.m. CT, Fields was still on his way to the stadium for a 9:05 p.m. game. The reliever missed his connecting flight, manager Bo Porter said, but is expected to be in uniform once the contest begins.
