The Oakland Athletics selected outfielder Corey Brown 59th overall in the first round of the 2007 MLB Amateur Draft.

Several years after being drafted by the Athletics, he was traded to the Washington Nationals in 2010 along with Henry Rodriguez for Josh Willingham. During his time in the Minors, Brown has hit 123 home runs, 409 RBI’s on top of a batting line of .267/.351/.484 between Oakland and Washington affiliates.

Brown made his Major League debut with the Washington Nationals on September 6th, 2011 but didn’t record his first career hit until July of 2012. He hit a home run against the Milwaukee Brewers in the fourth inning, a game that they won 4-1 in Milwaukee.
