Napoli are close to securing the Brazilian international on a season-long loan, according to new reports in Italy.

The 33-year-old was told by the West London outfit he could leave following their relegation from the Premier League.

Sky Sports Italia reports an agreement has been worked out between the clubs but no personal terms have been reached yet.

Arsene Wenger isn't ready to give up just yet on securing Cesar just yet however, and could be able to out-do Napoli by covering Cesar's £2.4m wage demands in full.

The Italian giants are said to only be willing to pay £1.8m.
