Arsenal sent scout Gilles Grimandi to the Stade Louis II on Wednesday night to watch a number of transfer targets during Monaco’s 3-1 win against Manchester City in the Champions League.

Leonardo Jardim’s side progressed to the quarter-finals on away goals after Kylian Mbappe, Fabinho and Tiemoue Bakayoko gave the Ligue 1 side a famous victory.

Grimandi spent five years at Arsenal as a player and has worked as a France-based scout for the Gunners since 2006.

Arsene Wenger’s side have been linked with a host of Monaco players this season and the 66-year-old recently admitted the Gunners had an approach for Mbappe turned down last summer.
