West Ham and Newcastle have both been linked with a move to Ba this summer however Express Sports understands that they are not one of the clubs in competition with the Gunners for the players signature.

Ba is surplus to requirements at Chelsea under Jose Mourinho after the signing of Samuel Eto'o pushed the former Newcastle man below Fernando Torres and Romelu Lukaku in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

According to magazine France Football Arsenal are in talks with the Blues over bringing Ba to the Emirates on loan.

There is competition looming from German and Italian clubs should those negotiations fail with Roma thought to be especially keen but the player is thought to want to remain in London.

It remains to be seen whether any other London clubs are wiling to offer Ba an exit route before midnight.
