Arsenal are hoping to complete a loan move for Palermo keeper Emiliano Viviano before the transfer window closes on Monday night.

talkSPORT told you in August that the north London club were hoping to sign the Italian keeper and the deal is now close to being completed.

First-choice keeper Wojciech Szczesny has come under fire over the past year and the Arsenal boss has been looking at several alternatives.

Wenger was strongly linked with a move for Viviano back in 2011 but the move never materialised.
