Arsene Wenger is hoping to end Arsenal woes in this summer’s transfer window with a surprise bid for former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

The Juventus star who joined the Serie A champions last year from United has struggled for first team football this season and may look to join The Gunners in the hope for more regular game time ITV has said.

Paul Pogba

After a youth career in his native France he came to United as a youngster where he was viewed extremely highly by their staff.

However Pogba rather surprisingly didn’t sign a new contract and left to join Juventus last season where he made a total of 37 appearances.

Despite producing several great performances for the Italian side Pogba nicknamed ‘Paul the Octopus’ due to his long legs when running and tackling struggled to find consistent first team football and he could look elsewhere to find a new club.

He has earned this year his first 2 caps for France and we know that Wenger has been keen in the past to add French talent to his side.

He could cost Arsenal around £20m but the club has said they are willing to fund bigger transfers than they have in the past to win that elusive trophy.

With Wenger clearly in need of some new talent as shown by their 3-1 home defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday Pogba could be a fantastic buy for the French manager.
