Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and West Ham boss Sam Allardyce are both keen to add to their forward options and have identified the Romanian international as a key target.

A free agent since leaving German club Schalke at the end of last season Marica confirmed he was closing in on his next move.

"I am in negotiations with three teams" he said.

"I hope I will be able to tell you the name of my next team by the end of next week."

Despite a great international scoring record where he has notched up 22 goals in 64 appearances Marica has struggled to hit the back of the net in the Bundesliga during the past two seasons.

Italian club Fiorentina are also interested in the 27-year-old with star striker Mario Gomez currently out injured.

Allardyce who brought in Mladen Petric last week is still looking for cover for the injured Andy Carroll with no time scale set on his return to action.

But the Hammers manager faces a fight for Marica's signature with Wenger keen to bring in a further striker to help support the in-form Olivier Giroud.
