In a move to get more experience and grit into their lineup the Rangers recalled veteran forward Arron Asham from the Hartford Wolf Pack Monday afternoon. He will take the place of J.T. Miller who was reassigned to the Wolf Pack, also on Monday.

The 35 year-old Asham began the season with the Rangers before being sent to Hartford. He appeared in three games with the Rangers on the season-opening road trip notching 14 penalty minutes, moving over the 1,000 penalty minute milestone in his NHL career along the way. After not playing on opening night in Phoenix Asham appeared in three straight games, logging a season-high 11:55 on October 8th in San Jose.

With the Wold Pack Asham played in 12 games. He totaled 19 penalty minutes and picked up a pair of assists while playing in Hartford.

Last season, Asham's first with the Rangers, he appeared in 27 regular season games and scored a pair of goals to go along with 50 penalty minutes. During the 2013 playoffs with the Rangers Asham scored twice more in ten games played.
