Running back Arian Foster is shaking off the rust. But he came closer during Week 2 to being his Pro Bowl self.

Foster rushed 19 times for 79 yards and got stronger as the game became tighter. He scored the Texans’ final eight points in regulation.

“I felt like I took a step in the right direction” he said. “You have to knock the rust off and the only way to do that is to get in there and bang.”

Challenges go Kubiak’s way

Coach Gary Kubiak has never won more challenges than he’s lost in a season but he’s off to a fast start in 2013.

Kubiak challenged two calls Sunday and both were overturned improving his record to 15-29. Only twice has he won more than two challenges in a season.

Kubiak’s first challenge Sunday came after officials ruled Tennessee running back Chris Johnson down at the Titans’ 1. A replay showed Texans linebacker Joe Mays tackled Johnson in the end zone for a safety.

On the last drive of regulation officials ruled Texans receiver Andre Johnson didn’t hold the ball when he was hit by Titans safety Bernard Pollard at the Tennessee 2. Replays showed Johnson made the catch.
