These are expected to be the final weeks of Santonio Holmes’ time with the Jets, but the controversial wide receiver said he hopes he’s back in 2014. He’s even willing to take another pay cut.
Holmes said Wednesday he would be amenable to cutting his pay if it meant he could come back to the Jets.

“Anything for the team,” Holmes said.

Holmes is in the third year of his contract, which was originally a five-year, $45 million deal. He accepted a $3.5 million pay cut last offseason and is making a base salary of $7.5 million this season.
In 2014, Holmes’ base salary is $8.25 million with a salary cap number of $10.75 million. If the Jets cut him, they would save $8.25 million against the cap.
