Angels manager Mike Scioscia told reporters in Tempe that the Angels will continue to allow beer in their clubhouse this season.
That's notable only because new outfielder Josh Hamilton is an alcoholic. He is accompanied by an accountability partner employed by the team, Shayne Kelley, to try and avoid a relapse like those he suffered away from the ballpark in 2009 and 2012.
"We've talked for a number of years about what we can do to help players with their environment, controlling alcohol and things like that," Scioscia said before the team's first full-squad workout Friday. "And it won't be an issue. Our guys are all responsible. It's not an issue with Josh."
