Jered Weaver allowed eight hits and two walks in six innings but he struck out five and only ended up allowing two runs. The Angels turned a 2-1 Philly lead into a 4-2 lead of their own with a three-run sixth inning. With Weaver in line for the Double-You, Mike Scioscia rolled out Kevin Jepsen, Joe Smith and Huston Street to seal the Win.

With the bases loaded in the home half of the sixth inning and one out, Howie Kendrick blooped an A.J. Burnett pitch an inch into fair territory on the line in no man's land of mid-RF, scoring two to take he lead. A fielders choice groundout by Brennan Boesch scored Erick Aybar to make it 4-2 and that run would be needed as a suddenly rusty Smith allowed a run on two hits in the eighth inning.
