Sixers fans have been patient. More than patient. Saintly, really, which is not exactly their forte. But they have hung onto the hope that Andrew Bynum would kick their team into higher gear and be the superstar they traded for last summer, once he made it back on the floor after yet another series of knee injuries in a career full of them. This month, Bynum had made noise about returning this month, that after the All-Star break was the lightly target. There was light at the end of the tunnel.

It's gotten awfully dark again.

Bynum told reporters prior to the Sixers game Monday night that his hopes have been dimmed in the past few days by the results of workouts.
