Andre Drummond was back to his old self.
The Pistons rookie center was in a joking and playful mood with media members surrounding him Friday morning at the George R. Brown Convention Center.
There was no evidence that he wouldn't be able to participate in the Rising Stars Challenge -- the rookie-sophomore showcase -- later that night because of a stress fracture in his lower back.
That's probably because Drummond said his back feels fine.
"I'm feeling good, there's no trouble at all," Drummond said. "I feel like I could play today.
"I always want to play, but I'm just trying to get better each and every day."
Although he won't play, Drummond joked about being an assistant coach for Team Shaq. Brandon Knight lined up with Team Chuck.
Drummond, 19, will stay through the weekend. It never crossed his mind to skip the weekend. He is soaking in the entire atmosphere.
