Andre Brown last season, after a series of stops and starts finally proved he could be a consistent NFL running back, rushing for 385 yards and a team-high eight touchdowns in limited action before his season was prematurely ended by a fractured fibula. With Ahmad Bradshaw released, there will be plenty of rushing attempts available for Brown, along with David Wilson entering his second year, and Brown has set the bar high for himself.

“I have to outdo last year’s stats,’’ Brown said on the team website. “Eight touchdowns – I want 22. I want 1,300 [yards] this year. That’s the steppingstone. I have to erase last year’s stats and show I can do better.”

Brown is a restricted free agent and has not yet signed his tender offer, but he’s participating in the off-season workout program after signing an injury protection agreement.

“This is my year,” Brown said. “I have to go out there and I have to produce. I feel like this is a very important season and I have to go out there and show the world what Andre Brown is made of.”
