Ander Herrera is open to a January move to Manchester United.

The Athletic Bilbao midfielder was the subject of a £26m bid yet United shelved attempts to match his £30.5m buy-out clause on Monday.

Herrera 24 said: 'A United offer came and I can only view that as a positive reflection on what I have been doing.

'At no time despite what anybody reported did I undergo a medical for United nor did I sign any contract with them. As for the future you never know what might happen.'

Herrera also distanced himself from the three lawyers who turned up at La Liga offices reputedly to negotiate his buy-out release.

'I've no idea who the three guys who turned up at the league offices are but I can say categorically that they had nothing to do with me or my representative.'
