The only scoreboard watching taking place at the Garden Saturday night was focused on the number of points next to Carmelo Anthony's name. The Knicks walked all over the Kings, 120-81, before a crowd that included 150 children, their families and teachers from Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.
The Knicks put the result to rest after an absurd 38-4 run that carried over from the first quarter to the second. While the Knicks were ruining Sacramento's night, Anthony's 31-game 20-point streak came to an end after he managed just nine points.
The 39-point blowout was the team's largest of the season; at one point the Knicks held a 50-point lead, which would have broken their 48-point record for largest margin of victory.
