Carl Crawford texted manager Bobby Valentine this afternoon, saying he'd be in Boston tomorrow, "ready to go."
Tonight, he's expected to get his 2012 season going with the Red Sox.
Just as he did with the return of Jacoby Ellsbury here on Friday, Valentine downplayed the idea that Crawford's presence will serve as a catalyst for a winning streak.
"I'm not expecting any immediate impact,'' said Valentine. "Expecting a guy, one of nine, who can go out there and be a contributor.''
All signs point to Crawford's return Monday
