You know it's bad when the guy who accepts being baseball's most hated player hands you the baton.

Red Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski said Alex Rodriguez is now Major League Baseball's most hated player, according to a column from Boston Globe's Dan Shaughnessy.

Pierzynski was named the league's top villain in a 2012 Men's Journal poll, and he told Shaughnessy he'd win it again except ... well, here's what he said:

“I think I’ve won it before so it’s just an easy answer. But I think A-Rod took over for me this year.’’
