On the first post-Zack Greinke day for the Milwaukee Brewers, the general manager stood in the corner of the dugout and delivered this pitch:
"Sometimes, out of bad comes good," Doug Melvin said.
Melvin wasn't just talking about the three Angels prospects he received in the wake of all of the how-are-you-going-to-win-without-Greinke comments he had heard by Saturday afternoon.
"If we're winning, we probably don't find out anything about Michael Fiers." Melvin said. "We probably don't find out anything about (Martin) Maldonado."
That's one way to spin a disappointing season that led Melvin to trade the otherwise unaffordable Greinke on Friday.
After Greinke, rebuilding awaits Brewers
