Beltre, who batted .376 in May, was not in the starting lineup Sunday against the Kansas City Royals. Jeff Baker started at third in Beltre's place, batting sixth.

Texas manager Ron Washington said Beltre could be back in the lineup against Boston on Tuesday night. The Rangers have an off day Monday.

"I was concerned at first, but once I got the news, I'm not," Washington said. "A couple of days and he should be back in there."
