If things go well...
The Raptors' improvement could come from the organic growth of center Jonas Valanciunas and guard Terrence Ross. If both guys make significant strides, combined with the play of Rudy Gay, Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan and decent contributions from the improved bench (Tyler Hansbrough, D.J. Augustin, Austin Daye, Landry Fields, and Steve Novak) the Raptors could make some noise and push for a playoff spot in the weak Eastern Conference.
If things go poorly...
The starting lineup could struggle to score at a reasonable rate and defend, and there is no guarantee that Valanciunas will improve on schedule. Things could get ugly, and 30-33 wins seems like a reasonable floor for this group. It'll be interesting to see how Gay and DeRozan pair together over a full season. They don't seem like a suitable match, and if they don't get their chemistry figured out early they could hover around that 30 win floor.
