The 2013 NBA Draft will take place tonight in Brooklyn, NY, we will have wall-to-wall coverage of all the latest rumors, news, and picks.

Major questions still remain. The Cleveland Cavaliers still seem undecided on the #1 pick (at least publicly) between Noel, Len, and Oladipo. Nobody seems to know what the Magic are doing with the #2 selection other than the fact that they are looking to trade.

The 2013 NBA Draft may lack superstar content, but it will likely be a wild night for rumors and trades.

Check out our 2013 NBA Draft Countdown for all of our previous rumors, profiles, and chatter.

Looooooong day...I'm absolutely exhausted.

I knew it was going to be a wild draft, but I could have never imagined this many trades.  Trying to keep track of them as they happened was extremely difficult because they don't announce them all at the podium, but I think I got them all.  There may be more swapping over the next couple of weeks.

Good night, everyone.

Victor Oladipo goes #2 to Orlando.

Not a surprise at all.

It looks like Noel could drop all the way to #5 (Phoenix)
07:46pm EST | Jun 27
Probably going to have Canadians drafted #1 overall in back-to-back years.  Everyone assumes Wiggins will go #1 next year.
07:43pm EST | Jun 27
Wow!

UNLV's Anthony Bennett goes #1 overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Shocker!

07:33pm EST | Jun 27
Yahoo! is reporting that the Oklahoma City Thunder were working hard to get the #1 pick from the Cleveland Cavaliers.  Bid failed.

By all appearances, the Garnett/Pierce to the Brooklyn Nets is going to happen.  The Boston Celtics have presented the deal to Garnett for approval and no-trade waival.

That makes the Celtics' pick at number 16 very interesting. It looks like the Celtics are heading towards a full-on fire sale and rebuild.

Will they try to move up?  Will they draft a point guard and dump Rondo on somebody else after the draft? Plenty of options for the C's.

Also, they don't own a pick in the 2nd round tonight...they may trade down for a couple of 2nd round picks in order to aid the rebuilding process.
06:10pm EST | Jun 27
Check this out...this is the kind of contradictory information we are all dealing with today.  Less than an hour before this #1 pick is finally announced.

According to reports the Sacramento Kings are very interested in drafting Ben McLemore. The Kings currently hold the #7 selection in the draft and feel that they will have to move up a few spots in order to get him.

I have McLemore at #7 (New Orleans) in my mock draft, but other mocks have him anywhere from #1-#8. Once again, this highly unpredictable draft continues to be just that...unpredictable.

As of right now, the big Pierce/Garnett trade is not going to involve any draft picks for tonight (looking like future years if any). I'm going to stop mentioning it in here. For updates on that deal check out our NBA Rumors and News page.

Forget NerLenthony McLottodipo to the Cavs at #1...they should draft this girl:

03:11pm EST | Jun 27
Among the players believed to have piqued the San Antonio Spurs' interest are Murray State guard Isaiah Canaan, Michigan guard Tim Hardaway Jr., North Carolina small forward Reggie Bullock, and Louisville center Gorgui Dieng
03:08pm EST | Jun 27
03:04pm EST | Jun 27
This doesn't mean that no trade are going to happen.  Teams can still draft FOR other teams if they have a deal in place after the deadline.

A potential blockbuster deal may be in the works between the Nets and Celtics. KG and Pierce would move to Brooklyn in exchange for Wallace, Humphries, Shengelia and three first round picks.

Pierce and KG would be coached by longtime rival Jason Kidd.

PSD Prospect Profile - Trey Burke

Michigan's Trey Burke brings an extremely high basketball IQ to the table. He's a shooter, a leader, and an absolute fearless basketball player.

At only 6'0'' his size is his biggest concern, he will have a tough time matching up against the bigger point guards in the NBA. Also his speed has been questioned by some scouts.  Hmmm...too small with some issues with speed and quickness.

Burke was a gifted scorer and a lethal clutch performer at the college level. Can he develop into a lethal long-range shooter is the biggest question. Passion and desire will only take you so far when you are matching up against players 3-4 inches taller.

Consensus: #6 to New Orleans or #7 to Sacramento

Prediction: #8 to Detroit (would make for a good story)

12:25pm EST | Jun 27
The Boston Celtics are trying to pick up a late-first or early-second-round pick and sources say their target is Missouri's Phil Pressey if they decide to go big with their first pick.
12:20pm EST | Jun 27
A couple of quick hit items:

The Philadelphia 76ers really like Cody Zeller and will look to add a big man.  Not sure if he will still be around at #11.  Steven Adams could also be an option for them.

The Brooklyn Nets are intrigued with Louisville's shot blocker Gorgui Dieng.  They pick at #22 and he should be around for them.

This tweet makes a lot of sense.  Barring a trade for the 2-4 picks, none of those teams are looking to draft a 7-footer. The same scenario goes the other way.  If the Cavs draft Noel, Len will fall to 5.

The big question is what happens if the Cavaliers take Oladipo or Porter with their #1 selection...how far will Noel or Len fall?  One will go at 5, but where does the other go?

PSD Prospect Profile - Anthony Bennett

UNLV's Anthony Bennett is an imposing big man with great quickness on the interior. He’s a matchup problem inside because he’s strong enough to handle smaller defenders and quick enough to blow by bigger ones. Bennett is tough to move down low and is as strong as any player in the country around the rim.

Bennett showed a tendancy to take games off last season with the Rebels which will be a red flag for some GMs. Another down-side for Bennett is his size. At 6'7''-6'8'' he will be slightly undersized at the 4 spot and he really does not possess the game to play at the 3 spot.

The bottom line on Bennett is that he falls in with all of the other guys in this year's draft. He is a top prospect with issues in some areas. There is no player in this draft who is polished at both ends of the floor and is a "can't miss" prospect.

Consensus: #4 to Charlotte or #5 to Phoenix

Prediction: #4 to Charlotte

Flip Saunders: Derrick Williams is not in play tonight

“I haven’t said anything about trading him,” he said. “That is something that has been speculative. That’s because last year it was pretty public, it came out of the organization that they were looking to trade him last year. It’s just a lot of speculation from the people, social media, everyone talking about trading him.”

On the other hand Saunders said that anybody is tradable.

“Wilt Chamberlain was traded, guys like Oscar Robertson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar got traded,” he said. “Anyone can be trade for the right price. But [Williams is] not a guy that we’re just out there looking to trade.

“He played well at the end of the year. If he was in the draft right now, he’d be a guy that would be one of the top three players that people would be looking at to draft. He’s only 21 years old. Sometimes you have to let those guys develop a little bit.”

Giving up Williams to trade the No. 9 pick is not viable.

The Oklahoma City Thunder really want into the top five for tonight's draft.  They possess two 1st round picks (#12 and #29) and are trying to package them, presumably, to the Phoenix Suns at #5.

Keep your eyes on this one tonight.

Jason Quick from The Oregonian has a strong belief the LaMarcus Aldridge wants out of Portland.  He published an article late last night outlining the teams options and also states, don't expect it to happen Thursday".

They are not going to deal Aldridge for a draft pick in this below average draft unless a deal includes, "Atlanta’s Al Horford, New Orleans’ Anthony Davis, New Jersey’s Brook Lopez, or the Clippers’ Blake Griffin."  Duh!!!

Nuggets may look to trade out of first round of NBA draft

The key question for the Denver Nuggets in the NBA draft Thursday: Is a guaranteed three-year contract for $2.8 million — $899,000 in the first season — worth it?

That’s what the 27th pick in the draft will cost the Nuggets, should they select a player in that slot. And would that player even play?

The short answer to those questions is no, and the Nuggets are expected to try to trade out of the first round. But there are complications in doing so. They aren’t the only team drafting late in the first round looking to make a move out of it. If those teams can’t find a suitor, the Nuggets would have to make that selection.

Magic GM: Haven't talked trade with Clippers in 3 weeks

Orlando Magic general manager Rob Hennigan on Wednesday refuted reports that his team is on the verge of a trade with the Los Angeles Clippers that would involve Orlando’s Arron Afflalo and L.A.’s Eric Bledsoe as the deal’s centerpieces.

“We haven’t had a drop or an ounce of communication with the Clippers for almost three weeks,” Hennigan said. “So, if we’re about to make a trade with them, I guess I missed that memo.”

The website Sports City, without citing any sources, recently reported that Bledsoe and wing Caron Butler “are expected to be packaged in a draft-day trade” to the Magic for Afflalo. Meanwhile, ESPN reported Tuesday night that talks between the Magic and Clippers were ongoing and a deal could be reached by Thursday’s NBA Draft.

Hennigan said he would be “stunned” if a deal occurred with the Clippers in the near future.

A few quick highlights from the last couple of days of rumors:

  • The Cleveland Cavaliers have reportedly offered their #1 overall selection to the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for Greivis Vasquez, the #6 pick, and a 1st round pick in 2014. Good luck with that one.  Full story
  • The New Orleans Pelicans are saying that Eric Gordon is not happy there and is very much available in a trade. Full Story
  • The Orlando Magic are willing to deal their #2 pick and there may still be discussion with the LA Clippers involving Eric Bledsoe.  Full Story
  • The Houston Rockets are interested in freeing up some cap space and are shopping Thomas Robinson.  The Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers could be in play here. This one could actually happen.

Well, taking Oladipo with the #1 pick certainly makes a lot more sense than taking Alex Len, IMO.
