The Toronto Blue Jays have placed first baseman-designated hitter Adam Lind on the 15-day disabled list with a strained back, retroactive to July 26, the National Post reported.

Lind, who missed three consecutive games over the weekend against the Tigers because of the back problem, had appeared in 24 games for the Jays since being recalled June 24 from Class AAA Las Vegas, hitting .288 with five home runs and 16 RBIs.

Lind was demoted earlier in the season after hitting .186 with three home runs and 11 RBIs in 34 games. Overall, he is batting .227 with eight homers and 27 RBIs with Toronto.
