The New York Islanders announced today that forward Eric Boulton has agreed to terms on a one-year contract.

Boulton, 36, appeared in 23 games with the Islanders this season, recording four points (two goals, two assists) and 88 penalty minutes. The Halifax, NS, native’s second season with the Islanders was cut short by a wrist injury suffered Mar. 4 in Winnepeg.

In 638 career NHL games with the Buffalo Sabres, Atlanta Thrashers, New Jersey Devils and the Islanders, Boulton has 77 points (29 goals, 48 assists) and 1,389 penalty minutes. He’s also appeared in four career Stanley Cup Playoff games, all with the Thrashers.
