Both North American hockey networks released pretty solid montages following the Los Angeles Kings' Stanley Cup victory on Friday night. NBC went strictly with highlights and CBC mixed in some old-school classic hockey moments and personalities.
Here are both:
CBC are the monsters in the hockey montage game and I think they win this contest pretty cleanly. I do love NBC's song choice...sticking with their "Under Pressure" theme from their commercial promos.
CBC went a bit sappy and traditional due to the fact that they are losing their NHL broadcast rights in Canada next season. Rogers SportsNet is taking over from TSN/CBC. CBC will still get to show games, but they will be 100% under the ownership and monopoly of SportsNet. It'll be interesting to see how that plays out...broadcasting games but getting no advertising money to do so.
