Rob Price (a college instructor from Andover, England) was planning to place a wager on former world #1 Rory McIlroy to win The Masters this weekend. After he saw, what looked like, Rory's face in a Danish pastry...he decided that he couldn't lose.

A golf fanatic has put £10k on Rory McIlroy to win the Masters - after seeing the sports star’s face in a Danish pastry.

College lecturer Rob Price was about to tuck into the tasty bun native to Caroline Wozniacki’s home country when he spotted McIlroy’s features on the top.

So instead of taking a bite, the superstitious 27-year-old rushed onto his Betfair online account and put €1,200 on the Northern Irish golfer to win the competition.

And if his Danish-inspired prediction proves to be a winner, Rob will be dining on pastries for years with a €14,400 payday.

...

“I was going to put some money on Rory to win The Masters this year anyway, but I’m pretty superstitious so when this happened instead of putting €120 down, I decided to go big and put €1,200 on through my Betfair account.

“It’s got to be a sign – Rory’s face on a piece of food from his girlfriend’s home country. My mates have had a giggle and think I’m mad, but if I pocket €14,400, I’ll be the one laughing.”

Let me start off by saying that this danish totally looks like Rory McIlroy. We see this sort of thing all of the time...some dude from Kentucky sees the President on the front of his potato chip or some grandmother from Mexico sees Jesus on her tortilla. This may be the first time I've ever looked at one of these crazy claims and said to myself, "Wow! That really does."

That IS Rory McIlroy's face on the face of a danish pastry.

On the other hand, upping your wager from 120 euros to 1200 euros might be a bit over the top. Do you realize how difficult it is to pick the winner of a golf tournament? 1200 euros is a ton of money, but I am now rooting for Rory this weekend. I want to see this guy cash his 14,400 euro payday.
